A shop to showcase your products is what every store owner would want. In this case the products are fairly unfamiliar to the bigger audience so the shop should also be able to draw those in and convey the information they would need.

Shopify

By using the Shopify platform as a reliable base there is no longer the hassle nor added costs of a managed server. Because of this the owner can focus on what they do best: creating new products. The Shopify interface is an easy to use e-commerce interface, since Shopify meant to be used as an e-commerce platform. In comparison with other E-commerce software like WooCommerce you immediately feel the difference.

Custom apps

As the default themes all look alike I built a set of custom blocks for this shop giving it a more unique look. These custom blocks are the new Shopify version of custom Gutenberg blocks that were created for the WooCommerce shop.

Migration from WooCommerce

As this was a WooCommerce shop before the data had to be migrated. In this case the customer wanted to re-organize the products and collections so that was all done manually. But to keep customer data this was all migrated from the old WooCommerce shop to the Shopify instance.

Mobile management app

As Shopify maintains their platform for small sellers up to enterprise businesses they attempted to offer a full package. This means you do not have to do everything from the website, there is also a mobile app for iPhone and Android phones. With this app you can manage your shop while you’re on the go.

POS

In the bookish world there are lots of opportunities for physical sales on nice markets. To support this, Bookish Goods is connected to the zettle POS. This is a good connection to use where you get a card reader and an app that syncs with your shop so you can sell the same products physically and digitally.
